OMG!!!!! I really do feel like Patrick Star, seriously.

Ever since i was like 10 i wanted to get front page or an award on newgrounds. Lol but my animations were so bad that they would get blamed.

A childhood dream came true! it only took 19 years lol. well i wasnt animating for 10 years. but still.

My gf actually laughed at me cos of my reaction. Which was literally the same as Patrick Star lol.

Im so thankful whoever gave me dis.

i'm gunna make more short comedic parodies. I am hoping to make my next one about Yawn the snake from Resident Evil 1.

I've been working for awhile on this parody of Resident Evil 1.

To be exact, the directors cut! Because, in that game, there is terrible music. You might be familiar with the bad basement theme. The Youtuber Whang! covered it in funny detail. The basement music is made up of really crappy horns, tooting horns if you will.

So I thought, hey. You know what would be funny?

If there was a parody we're Jill Valentine encounters zombies playing trumpets. And they annoy the hell out of her. Tooting their horns aggresively! Creating intense sound pollution that Jill goes stark raving mad over! Barry of course, being of very little help to Jill.

And that's basically it the idea.

I've been working on it for awhile now. I'm almost finished. I need to rework the audio files in Premire. Do a bit of editng and It's done!

Admittedly, my animation skills really suck. And at my age it's embarrassing. But it's been a really long time since I've done any animations.

I think I can finish it in about a week?

Either way. I hope it ends up making people laugh.

I didn't have a great time, I learned alot in theory at atleast.

Seriously though, I wish I studied game design or something geeky like that. Oh well. I should be grateful.

I feel like if you are going to study a creative course, its better just to practice your craft and study something else.

Because chances are you will be given "Self Management Study" as part of your learning anyway. Which involves no teaching. YOU are the person making whatever it is. You could lock yourself away and do the exact same thing without "education". Just make sure to start finding a way to monetize it so you can live and work on a craft at the same time, that you love. Unless you want to work with other people in a company of course.

I recall there was someone who learned how to program in four months vs four years. Simply by writing down the programing language on call cards, locking himself away and memorizing them hours a day.

Its worth thinking about.

Anyone reading this, make sure you read the curriculum of a course. If you see self management study, stay away. Unless it's just a small part of it perhaps. But seriously, life drawing, drawing practice, making a film. Do you need a uni to put you in dept to do those things?

I mean if you study to be a Lawyer.. then yes, every part of that education counts.

The creative sector on the other hand.. its a different story. Because it's subjective. It doesnt help when you get moronic, romantic sensationalism (that feels like something out of a film like Whiplash.. Or The Apprentice) that mingles it's way in.

It's hard to explain. I just felt like everyone wanted to "be the best" rather then just make what you want because you want to make it..It's not the point of being creative. Its also pointless in a class of 30 people. You are competing with the entire world afterall.. millions of other people. So why bother? Just make what you want because you want to. Leave that sensational Whiplash, Gordon Ramsay Hells Kitchen bullshit out of it. It has no place in the creative sector...

If you end up on a course and its depressing, just quit, move on to something else.. don't waste your time. Life is short.

I think il make a rant video about it one day, it's long overdue.

I remember after graduating I read The Fountainhead by Ann Ryand and I laughed how i could relate to the book.

But its a whole can of worms to explain.

I felt much happier studing a game design MA near london. But i had to quit since i did not live locally. That was a far more uplifting course. I guess it catered to my geeky side. It was just more pleasent. Everyone just making what they wanted and it was very entrepreneur esk. Again.. its difficult to explain. Man I wish i stayed there. I was doing it part time and had to drive two hours just to get there (and in uni fashion everyone death stares you for being late even though they live locally ahaaahaaaa) But yeah the journey was too far.

I should have grown a pair and just lived in a flat nearby or something.

So for my university project i have been creating this animation on flash, aftereffects and sketchbook... as in drawing in an actual sketchbook not software :3 lol

anyway so far its going well. in a sense its already finished however this is because it was rushed to meet the deadline. It now needs refurbishing. scenes new editing and new ones need creating, so its going to take awhile.

in the link below is a scene created with the use of a particle effect to produce rain. This clip shows a wanted poster the person of which is hiding in this desolate landscape. He is unaware of the danger he is in. I think i shouldbe able to finish this animation in two mouths time.

for the last few months i have been animating something personal O.o. well actually perhaps something universal?
its about not being able to sleep during the summer, a persistent son of a bitch problem that followed me right until the end of September. while loosing a small bit of sanity each day/night i would try to watch cartoons at about 4:00 am to help me sleep. granted it sometimes worked. other times i felt like i was drifting off, into a world of colorful characters, with strange voices and bizarre stories. the very essence of nostalgia would haunt me as i tried to sleep on the sofa, a sense of comfort pushed aside by conscious doubt.

anyway the flash itself is done, but its bugged like dayz. i made the decision to create the scenes in movie clips, then put the backgrounds on the main timeline. after which i would put the movie clips on top. i thought this would be a good idea. i was wrong, now the flash is out of sync and difficult to fix. :(

but yeah i think i will be uploading this within the next couple of weeks, hopefully less.
